Rich
Focus Group of Companies (RFC) started
out as a property developer in 1980's in the
northern state of Malaysia, Penang, under
the name Fu Huat Realty.
The
company had its early start more than
a decade ago when Fu Huat Realty Sdn.
Bhd. was established as a small Chinese
family-owned business with diverse
business interest. Its principal activity
was centered on property development
and construction.
Being a small company then had its
advantages viz
* Small and
hands-on management by shareholders
* Cost conscious
* Efficient cash flow management
* Bottom-line oriented
In those early years, the Company
could compete and survive in the less
competitive property market. It undertook
small-scale housing projects, the
completion od which were not only
a financial success but a learning
experience.
Rich Focus Corporation Sdn. Bhd. was
subsequently incorporated in 1993
as the platform for the Company to
venture into bigger projects concomitant
with expansion of human resources.
The Company's property division was
reorganized into distinct sectors
of activities and responsibilities
to better meet the challenges of the
highly competitive and complex property
industry. Emphasis were places on
evaluation of market demand and supply,
feasibility studies, physical project
planning, project cost and control
and formulation of marketing strategies
since these are important elements
which determine project viability.
With renewed confidence, the Company
broadened its development activity
venturing into the commercial property
sub sector and teaming up with other
established companies to undertake
privatised projects. It also aggressively
marketed its housing beyond the shores
of Penang, i.e. Singapore with considerable
success.
Success, however, has not gone to
its head. The lesson of the recent
past economic turmoil has not been
forgotten by the Company. Nevertheless,
the company believes in the saying
"in every crisis there is also
opportunity". With this in mind,
the Company will adopt a cautious
stance before committing to future
development projects by being cautious,
selective and evaluating all factors
in order to ensure its exposure to
minimum risk. |
